Update - March 26, 2020

At York, we care about our employees, residents and communities, and take the evolving and global nature of the COVID-19 very seriously. We recognize our obligation to support our residents when possible.

We want to ensure residents are aware of options the federal government has put in place to support residents who may be suffering financial hardship related to job loss, additional burdens caring for family, or illness due to COVID-19.

Below please find some benefits you or a family member may be eligible for:

Employment Insurance (EI)

For residents that have been laid off or are sick leave

The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)

This program is to support Canadians whose income has been reduced or lost due to COVID-19.
Canadians who qualify for the program will provide a taxable benefit of $2,000 a month for up to 4 months

Emergency Care Benefit

Intended for those who don't qualify for EI, can't go to work, and don't have paid sick leave
Provides up to $900 every two weeks for up to 15 weeks, to those affected by COVID-19
Who can apply:

o Workers - including self-employed - who are quarantined or sick with COVID-19

o Those staying home to care for a family member with COVID-19 who doesn't qualify

o Parents staying home to care for children because of school closures

Update - March 20, 2020

At York, we care about our employees, residents and communities, and take the evolving and global nature of the COVID-19 very seriously.

York Property Management will be closing all offices to residents, prospective tenants, and vendors effective Monday March 23rd, 2020.

We encourage tenants to contact us by phone or email for essential maintenance requests or tenant issues. At this time, York Maintenance will discontinue any non-essential maintenance requests until further notice.

We understand the uncertainty around this time and ask that any concerns about rental payments outside of Windsor should be directed to tenants@yorkproperty.ca and for Windsor tenants, windsor@yorkproperty.ca.

As a result of the ever-changing situation, responses may be delayed.

Update - March 15, 2020

At York, we care about our employees, residents and communities, and take the evolving and global nature of the COVID-19 very seriously.

We are implementing additional and more frequent sanitization in all of our buildings on all surfaces. We have also provided disinfectant spray bottles in our lobbies for residents to use on high touch surfaces.

All amenities will be closed effective immediately.

Education signs for the virus and prevention have been installed in common areas from Public Health Agency of Canada and Public Health Ontario.

We would like to remind you to:

• Stay home when you are sick.

• Wash your hands with soap and warm water often, for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Cover coughs and sneezes with your sleeve; or cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the garbage.

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

• Avoid gathers in large groups.

• Avoid handshakes.

• Clean and disinfect high-touch objects and surfaces frequently.

• Practice Social Distancing by maintaining 2 meters (6 feet) physical distance from others
